		<description>I&#039;m guessing that Empathy doesn&#039;t make any of this information public like the tango friends server does, only shares it with contacts; so it wouldn&#039;t be so useful from the point of view of a web service like this (unless I went to the extent of letting you log in to a jabber server). But it does sound like it would be interesting to get this sort of support integrated in to tango itself, I might have a look at doing that if I get time (that&#039;s a big if though).</description>

That is at least what Empathy is bringing to the GNOME desktop, and interoperability would be great.
